Easter at Christ Church URC...
Easter is an important time in the Christian calendar, where we remember the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. There are a number of events taking place at Christ Church URC and in the local community before, during and after Easter, details of which can be found on this page.
Saturday 13th March: Lunchtime @ Christ Church
Everyone is very welcome to this social event, which will take place in the Church between 11:00am and 2:00pm. Join us for lunch, music and fellowship.
Thursday 1st April: Maundy Thursday service
This service begins at 8:00pm and will take place at Lancaster Road URC. All are welcome.
Friday 2nd April: Good Friday Procession of Witness and Ecumenical service
At 10:30am there will be a short service at the War Memorial on Chase Green, Chase Side. Following that, there will be a Procession of Witness through Enfield Town to St Andrew's Church, where an Ecumenical service will be held (starting at 11:00am).
Sunday 4th April: Easter Sunday service
The Easter Sunday service at Christ Church URC starts at 11:00am. It is being led by The Worship Group and will include Holy Communion. Everyone is welcome to stay for refreshments following the service.
Saturday 17th April: Historic Churches guided tours
There will be guided tours around two of Enfield's finest Victorian gothic revival Churches between 11:00am and 2:00pm.
The Grade B listed St Mary Magdalene Church of 1883 by William Butterfield lies at the junction of The Ridgeway with Windmill Hill. The chancel has attractive coloured marbles and tiles and roof and wall paintings. Tours will include the opportunity for the agile to ascend the tower. The adjoining Grade II listed former vicarage of 1883 is also by Butterfield.
The Grade II listed Christ Church United Reformed Church of 1874-5 by John Tarring is in Chase Side. It contains Victorian stained glass and stone relief reredos of the last supper of Jesus and his disciples after Leonardo da Vinci's famous painting. There will be refreshments at Christ Church and historical displays and publications available at both Churches.

Sunday services at Christ Church take place at 11:00am. Details of these services can be found on the what's on page. We also have a number of organisations at Christ Church including Boys' Brigade, Guides, Pilots, the Friendship Club and more. Pilots meet every Sunday apart from when there is a Family Parade Service, The Boys' Brigade and Guides meet every Monday and Friday respectively during school term time, and more information about all of the groups can be found on the organisations page.
