The United Reformed Church: Our beliefs...

The United Reformed Church is one of the three main historic Free Churches along with the Methodists and Baptists. The United Reformed Church began as a union of the Congregationalists and Presbyterians in 1972 but its history goes back to the 16th century.

We believe in one almighty God our loving heavenly Father who created the world and gives life.

We believe God became man in Jesus Christ who died on the cross to forgive our sins and was raised to life to offer us eternal life through him. We believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour.

We believe God is still with us through the Holy Spirit to guide and help us.

We are called to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and to love our neighbour as ourselves.
